The cotton cloth used for coating abrasives is generally twill weave, which is due to its thick texture, softness and high strength. The tear strength is in both warp and weft directions. The requirements for the weight of the original cloth of the three-coated abrasive are the same as the requirements of the paper. Different coated abrasives also have different requirements for the weight of the original cloth. Generally speaking, heavy-duty cloth is mainly suitable for coarse-grained and strong grinding; light-weight cloth is suitable for fine-grained and grinding.

The cooling media used in commercial furnaces are: water, wind, and steam-water mixture(white aluminum oxide). Wind is less thermally conductive than water, and the cooler is likely to overheat when the heat flow intensity is large, so it is often used in places where the cooling intensity is not too large. The cost of using air cooling is more expensive than water, but it is safe and reliable, so the bottom of the blast furnace is mostly air cooled. The advantage of cooling with a steam-water mixture is that the latent heat of vaporization is large, a large amount of water can be saved, and low-pressure steam can be recovered.

When the mass fraction of the binder increases to 18%, the microstructure of the grinding tool will start to become compact and coalesce The total porosity of the bridge also decreased.
