Five Essentials for a Royal Wedding party!

It is only a few days until the most talked about wedding of the 2018 will take place. I don’t know about you, but I am super excited to start celebrations, I mean… any excuse for the British to throw a party!

Here I have put together five essentials you will be needing for the ultimate fun filled Royal Wedding party.

1

Good Weather

Good Weather

Now, this is hard to come by in England however, judging by the recent weather… I am feeling positive! Street parties are set to take place all over the country and you can expect lots of food and fun. Even if it does decide to rain, I have never known bad weather to stop a Brit from getting out and having fun. Marquees, gazebos and big umbrellas are all fab ideas to shelter partygoers from bad weather. If you are having a street gathering or opening up your garden, where you will have tables all connected together, simply line the gazebos together. This way you can be drinking your favourite tipple and eating cucumber sandwiches in the dry!

Keep an eye on the weather with online sources like the BBC and The Met Office to be prepared!

Outdoor Furniture

Along with marquees and gazebos protecting everyone from natural elements, having somewhere to eat and sit is a good idea too. With street and garden parties taking place, you want to make sure you have suitable and durable furniture for all to perch on whilst socialising and celebrating the big day. Having furniture that is also super easy to put away like folding chairs and tables will make tidying up, with a hangover, so much easier! Ensure there are plenty of bins around the street or your garden as this will make Operation Clean Up so much more manageable!

A Very English Platter

Finger foods and cake should most definitely be on the menu! Fruitcake, Victoria sponge and cucumber sandwiches are the ultimate staples of any English street or garden party… Not to mention the cheese and pineapple sticks! Get everyone to chip in with their favourite British recipes and soon you will have a feast fit for a King and Queen (or Duke and Duchess)!

4

A Very English Tipple

A Very English Tipple

Pimms is a fruity concoction that is a party favourite, especially for an outdoor party or BBQ as it is super refreshing. Made up of alcohol, lemonade and slices of fruit this drink is a hot favourite when it comes to Summer. For those searching high and low for a non-alcoholic refreshment that you can raise to the happy couple, there are plenty of mocktail recipes that are colourful and yummy!

Royally Themed Fun

Royally Themed Fun

Now… Time to embrace the Royal Family from plates to games!

I’m talking Harry and Megan face masks, union jack bunting and royal wedding flags! Of course, you can get Royally themed party bits like paper plates and napkins for everyone to enjoy their food on. Little cocktail sticks flying the flag is also a lovely little way that not only can keep your food together but pay homage to the happy couple! Of course, Megan Markle is American so why not mix it up a little with some American flags to welcome the new Duchess?

I have also seen some fantastic royal wedding game ideas, albeit mostly for adults from Royal wedding bingo to Royal trivia for know-it-all’s! For the little ones, what about ‘Pin the veil on Megan’ or even a game of charades? I saw a wonderful idea of ‘Get me to the church on time!’ which is essentially a fancy dress wheel barrow race that can take place along your street!
