This fall I attended Delight, a conference produced by Connective DX in Portland, Oregon, focused on creating experiences that people love. The notions of delight and lovable customer experiences were the perfect backdrop to expand my thinking about life and work. I discovered several relevant ideas.
Earlier this month, hundreds of designers, strategists, and developers converged at the annual Delight Conference in Portland. As fellow proponents of delightful brand experiences, we attended to hear from leaders at Intuit, Zappos, NASA, and others. Focusing on tactics and strategies to deliver delight in a digital world, we saw many themes that connect with our thinking around creating human-centric omnichannel experiences.

Last month I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Portland, Oregon, at Delight 2015 - a conference focused on "bringing exceptional experiences to life." To me, what it all boiled down to is making authentic connections with other humans. And that, dear readers, is my jam.

Intuit's Suzanne Pellican kicked off her Delight Conference keynote by saying, "If you are here to delight your customers, you have to think about your culture from within." This theme continued to reverberate across the presentations, workshops, and conversations during the event's three days in Portland, Oregon. And for good reason.
People who make their living as "creatives" are all too familiar with the panic of a blank page or canvas. As Gene Fowler said, "Writing is easy: All you do is sit staring at a blank sheet of paper until drops of blood form on your forehead."
