Liquids in a Laboratory

Use the following guidelines for storing flammable and combustible chemicals in the laboratory. (Information from Chemical Safety and Disposal Guide , University of Wisconsin-Madison, 2005): Take precautions when storing flammable chemicals in a refrigerator. Refrigerator temperatures are almost always higher than the flash points of flammable liquids (see 2.1.a).

Beaker - A beaker is a glass container with a flat bottom and a small spout for pouring. It is used in the chemistry lab for mixing, heating, and stirring liquids. Beakers come in various sizes and are shaped like a cylinder.

These instruments transfer liquids from various sources to SBS-footprint plates, as well as many non-standard labware. Liquid handling robotics deliver volumes with very low CVs and can be safely used with live cell cultures. We currently have single and multi-channel pipettors, as well as dispensers and washers.
