Career Services welcomes Jenna Turman as the Assistant Director for Alumni Programs. She manages alumni engagement for career programs, events, and services dedicated to assisting alumni. She will also promote and market strong, collaborative, cross-campus partnerships to grow the group of alumni who serve as career resources for students, as well as expand current efforts to engage alumni through social media.

Education and Background

Jenna earned her Master of Arts in Educational Leadership for Student Affairs and Bachelor of Science in Psychology, graduating cum laude, both from Central Michigan University (CMU) and she is a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner. She came to SU in 2015 and started working with the Veterans Career Transition Program (VCTP) thought the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). Her passion for career development and networking brought her back to her roots with this role in Career Services. Previously, she served as Employer Relations Coordinator/Counselor in Career Services at Utica College, where she was able to enhance alumni and employer partnerships for the office and actively engage others in social media communications.

Favorite Thing about Syracuse University

Besides the wonderful alumni, students, faculty and staff she gets to work with, she also loves 'Cuse Basketball. Ever since she first moved to the area, she has been going to the games, and keeping close tabs on the team, and Coach Boeheim. She thinks it really brings a campus and community close together to have such an excellent program. Let's get another Championship!!

You have to stay connected to your network, and contribute to the growth and development of your network. Stay active in the community, in your industry, and in areas you are unfamiliar with. Continuously learning and meeting new people will only enhance your career development.

Fun Facts

A few fun facts: Jenna was born on her dad's 30th birthday, basically giving him the best present ever. Her sister is a stand-up comedian in LA, and has even sold a screenplay. She has been skydiving, checking at least one thing off her bucket list. Her dog, Jimmy Fallon, is also a huge Orange fan.
