Petaling Street is the definition of a street market. Considered to be the most famous street market in Malaysia, Petaling Street is located in Chinatown KL. The street is home to hundreds of little stalls selling all manner of things at ridiculously cheap prices. Ranging from cheap t-shirts to knock-off phones, everything can be found at Petaling Street. Best yet, the shops on the street are known for their bargaining culture, so with a little bit of haggling you might be able get some great discounts and deals. The street also has many great food stalls serving up delicious street foods.
The 48 storey twin-towered Berjaya Times Square is one of the most iconic buildings in Kuala Lumpur. Located adjacent to the Berjaya Times Square Hotel; one of the most pleasant four-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur, this iconic shopping mall caters to all kinds of shoppers. Opened in 2003, the Berjaya Times Square has been the hallmark of shopping in Kuala Lumpur since its inception and is known for its sheap fashion and wide range of gadgets. With over 700 different stores, including the best international and local brands, shoppers are never out of options at the Berjaya Times Square. Apart from the many stores, the mall also has many other attractions, making it quite an exciting shopping venue.
Bukit Bintang is a smaller region of Kuala Lumpur which is best known for its thriving nightlife and amazing shopping options. Bukit Bintang is a haven for shopaholics, as this small region is packed with numerous shopping malls department stores, all within walking distance of each other. Some of the big names at Bukit Bintang are the Pavilion KL, Low Yat Plaza, and the Starhill Gallery. Most of the flagship stores of many international brands are found in Bukit Bintang, making it the ideal place for a full day of shopping.
Jalan Imbi Market is probably the most popular market amongst the locals of Kuala Lumpur. This morning market is located in Jalan Kampung, in Bukit Bintang, and offers the some of the freshest produce, best meat cuts, spices of every kind, and many other smaller goods. While the locals flock to get the best produce, tourists generally flock to the rows of street food stalls of the market, known for their mouth-watering dishes. Make sure you try out the pork pies, egg tarts, spring rolls and Wantan Mee.
