Beautiful sandy beaches and glistening blue oceans make Seychelles a safe haven for a family holiday. Loved by children of all ages the archipelago offers fun activities under sunny skies.

1

Nature Lovers Activities

Bird watching is one of the thrills that kids and parents can enjoy when visiting the sunny archipelago. Visit Bird Island located on the northern tip of the archipelago; it is a beautiful 170 acre coralline sanctuary that is home to a large number of bird species. Kids especially love the experience of being within close proximity to the nests, baby birds and sea birds engaging in fishing activities. The island is uninhabited by humans offering your family a unique interaction with the feathery creatures.

Spotted on the island are wedged tailed shearwaters, sooty terns, common and lesser noddies, Madagascar and Seychelles turtle doves, Madagascar fodies and many more exotic species.

Some of the luxury resorts offer interactive endeavours such as crab catching, spotting fish and island scouts for children. There are also kids clubs that offer glass bottom boat rides, pedal boats, kayaking and other water based activities -within safe environs. Sitting on scenic Mahe's western coast is the AVANI Seychelles Barbarons Resort & Spa.

Kids will Love Curieuse Island

The beautiful island of Curieuse is home to the Aldabra Giant Tortoise. Kids will love walking around the island and feeding the hundreds of giant tortoises that reside there. The whole island is in fact designated as a National Marine Park including boardwalks through mangrove forests and excellent hiking trails to the red and blue granite cliffs. Take your kids to the nursery where the baby tortoises are nursed for the first five years before being released into the folds of nature. Head over to the Baie Laraie Harbour and catch sights of the giant Hump-Head Parrot Fish and enjoy a marvellous day out in the tropics.

Diving is one of the Seychelles biggest lures and older children have the privilege of enjoying this marvellous activity. PADI certificate courses are available at the best Seychelles resorts featuring a dive centre. Excellent trainers will soon have you and the kids exploring the marvellous wonders of the Ocean. This is a truly rewarding experience that offers you sightings of butterfly fish, angel fish, octopus, soldier fish and much more. Book a tour and you will be taken to isolated islands where indulging in snorkelling, diving and a sunny picnic with the kids is on offer.
