Travelling with kids is a great idea, but they can easily get bored and some cities just fail to get them excited. Bali is thankfully not such a destination and has plenty to offer young travellers!
Cultural parks such as Garuda Wisnu Kencana up in the hills of Jimbaran are ideal locations to explore. They are teeming with art and cultural highlights, live performances and exhibitions. Taman Nusa is another cultural park with an open-air complex.
No kid would miss a garden. Although they are not familiar with the adult names given to trees, they would certainly be busy running around. Treetop Adventures provides a good platform for your little one to enjoy their own world.
Your kids will have the whole day dedicated for some splashing fun, with world-class water slides and water-based activities at Bali's collection of water parks. The Waterbom Bali in South Kuta is the island's first as well as the largest water park. It guarantees a great time for the whole family.
Bali's family resorts look as if they are specially designed for kids. Most Bali family resorts such as Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali have ensured safety both indoors and outdoors for the kids. Such resorts also offer family rooms or suites and plenty of activities for all to enjoy.
Bali is home to a wide range of animal parks and attractions featuring exotic species of fauna. That means extra fun and excitement for your child. The largest animal attraction is the Bali Safari & Marine Park in Gianyar, which is a hotspot for tourists.
Your child could be a masterful artisan in the making! If you want to equip them with craft skill, there could hardly be a better place than Bali, for this is an island rich in arts and crafts. They offer various workshops such as silver-making courses and pottery classes.
Bali is renowned for its unique cuisine. Introduce kids to the unique Balinese cuisine by taking them around, and maybe attending a cooking class together as a family.
Your child will certainly take pleasure in the impressive stage performances of Bali. Devdan Show at the Bali Theatre in Nusa Dua will introduce you to a magical tour of the Indonesian archipelago through immersive lighting, music and eye-catching dance choreography. Kids will fall in love with the Bali Agung Show at the Bali Safari and Marine Park in Gianyar, where they would experience the animals of the safari park, from macaws to lion cubs, being incorporated into the show.
Recent additions to Bali's attractions include trick-eye 3D painting galleries with amazing photo opportunities and great fun for your family. The first of its kind was the Trick Art 3D Gallery on the Seminyak end of Sunset Road, and the larger Dream Museum Zone bordering between Kuta and Legian, which features an impressive total of 120 unique artworks spread over three levels.
Family restaurants are an ideal way to enjoy your holiday. Most family restaurants in Bali will offer your little ones a chance to engage in playful activities such as Pirates Bay Bali, which takes on a pirate ship theme complete with a life-size wooden ship. This plus a collection of well-shaded tree-houses filled with cushions and dining tables would make your little one's day.
