Styrofoam Cups - Often times overlooked are a great cost effective substitute for seedling starter trays. The cups are usually big enough to hold plants after the seedling stage until it's time to transplant outdoors. Either reuse the used cups you already have or buy them brand new. After i transplant my plants grown in these cups i save all the cups that aren't broken for use next year.

Popsicle Sticks
Great for writing the date & name of the plants you're growing on. You could also glue these together to create a trellis for your plants to grow on, use as a stake to sturdy limp stems or as a mini raised bed for starting seeds in as an alternative to cups and seedling trays.

Plastic Wrap
Used to cover cups to create a humidity dome to help seeds sprout when seed starting.

Twine
The uses for twine in the garden are endless and it's always best to keep it on hand just in case.

Spray Bottles
Spray bottles can have many different uses like for instance - when I plant my seeds and cover them with dirt I soak the soil with water from the top then cover the cups with plastic. Plastic spray bottles do come in handy around the garden and i usually keep 2 or 3 laying around just incase.

Epsom Salt
A great source of two of the three secondary macro-nutrients magnesium and sulfur. I typically mix one teaspoon of epsom salt in a spray bottle and (foliar feed) spray it on my plants leaves. The epsom salt keeps the leaves nice and green and encourages plant growth.

Gardening Gloves
A great pair of multi-purpose gloves. I use mine for various jobs around the yard as well as gardening.

Terra Cotta Clay Pots
A good quality small clay pot. I would probably just use it to grow herbs indoors. This product I believe is seasonal and not available year round in store.

Seeds
The Dollar Tree offers a wide selection of seeds for sale. The seeds are from a company called American Seed and are a top selling item at the Dollar Tree. If you have absolutely no money to purchase much better quality seeds than by all means give these a go.
