A seafood meal is not a choice but a rule of thumb when you are in Thailand. With plenty of fresh seafood available you will be spoilt for choice with the wide range of restaurants serving fish.
'Krachang' as referred locally are Phuket's floating seafood restaurants. This is a novel way to dine and relish your seafood while floating along the east coast of the town. The trip involves a fun, brief long-tail boat ride from Laem Hin Pier to the restaurants. It's a great day out all year round, come rain or shine! Dining at these floating restaurants is a unique experience all together, so while you dig into mouthwatering Thai seafood cuisines you get an experience of a lifetime.
This is a popular spot with local diners so the meals taste pretty authentic. It's a large orange-painted seafood restaurant on the northern edge of Phuket Town and get's crowded during lunchtime and dinner. The seafood dishes here are pretty darn good and you can get a taste of the real Thai flavours. You can choose here between two air-conditioned indoor dining spots, or the communal-like central restaurant with plenty of action, or dining on the balconies.
'If it swims we have it', the well known slogan of Bangkok's Seafood Market and Restaurant says it all about the variety you are going to find. This is a famous, long running, enormous restaurant with seating available up to 1500 guests. You can literally pick what goes into your dish, since they follow a 'choose your own produce' dining concept in the restaurant. It's not only about the food here but it's the whole package and a unique dining experience altogether.
There's nothing to beat the good old seafood barbecues that pop up across Bangkok's busy streets each evening. Locals sit around and chat at the roadside eateries while the vendors work their grills. The grilled fish is often accompanied with a variety of vegetables, rice or noodles. You can order depending on your appetite. You can enjoy a hearty meal at very affordable rate here.
The Sai Thong restaurant at Anantara Hua Hin Resort is a lovely place for a casual seaside dining experience. This Hua Hin beach resort serves the freshest seafood and fiery barbecue delights for guests. The seafood here is supplied by the local fishermen therefore all the dishes are completed with the freshest produce.
Overlooking the fishing pier you find Saeing Thai Seafood open-air restaurant in Hua Hin. The atmosphere here is nothing fancy, it's a simple and functional set up but the superb seafood dishes are hard to match! They focus on diversity and you find a huge variety available. The food is simply too good to miss so if you are in the mood for seafood, Saeng Thai is a must try. The prices are reasonable but not cheap..
