Delhi police have arrested Shibesh Adhikari, the 22-year-old, who shot himself at Rajiv Chowk metro station. The accused, suspected to be mentally unstable, has been giving inconsistent details of events. Adhikari has claimed that he accidentally shot himself while on his way to 'assassinate' a person about to 'blow up' Delhi Metro.

The talks between the Punjab government and farmers over the increase in compensation for the cotton loss have failed and farmers have decided to block rail traffic in the state on October 7 and 8. Farmers have been demanding Rs 40,000 per acre as compensation for the cotton damage but the government is providing only Rs 8,000 per acre.

A television journalist was allegedly shot dead by motorcycle-borne goons in Uttar Pradesh. Hemant Yadav, 45 who worked with a local news channel was rushed to a government hospital where he died. Yadav's body has been sent for post-mortem and an FIR has been registered against unidentified pople at Chandauli police station by his wife.

Three tourists were hurt as a boulder fell from the roof of the caves at the world famous Ellora caves in the district. Three elephant sculptors were also damaged as the boulder fell over the caves. Officials said that the stones might have developed crack due to bushes and shrubs on the cave top which could have led to the tragedy.

Bollywood Superstar Shah Rukh Khan is all set to shoot an ad film for Bengal tourism in late-mid October. A woman employee at a BPO was allegedly gangraped by two men in a moving van in Bengaluru. The woman was waiting for transport at her shift's end when she was offered a ride by the men. While one threatened her at knife-point, the other accused drove the vehicle to an isolated area where the crime occurred.
