CITY: Delhi
The Faculty of Fine Arts at Jamia Millia Islamia was founded in 1951 as the Art Institute. It offers courses in the fields of applied art, painting, sculpture, graphic art, art education, appreciation and history.

College of Art was established in 1942 for advanced training in Visual Art, creative and applied, leading to the Bachelor of Fine Art Course and Postgraduate course of Master in Fine Art.

The Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapith university in Varanasi was inaugurated in 1921 by Mahatma Gandhi himself during the Non-Cooperation movement of the freedom struggle. The Department of Fine Arts at the university was founded in 1983 and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD courses in Indian Painting, Tribal and Folk Arts, and Indian Sculpture.

The department of Fine Art of Aligarh Muslim University was established under the Faculty of Arts in the year 1988. It offers the following: 4 yrs Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), 2yrs Master of Fine Arts (MFA), Diploma in Applied Art, BA (Hons.) in Fine Art and Ph.D degrees. Each programme is studio-based and students are developed to independently pursue their work supplemented with tutorial and technical assistance.
