Cheesequke students and staff create beautiful holiday art work to be displayed throughout the Central Administration building. Mrs. Rivera and her ESL students, as pictured above, decorated and bedazzled gingerbread men and women as they learned about The Gingerbread House story. Our students' imaginations and creativity continue to amaze us. The art work will certainly spread joy this holiday season throughout the Central Administration building.
Mrs. Lotano's kindergarten students made holiday cards for sick children in hospitalized this season. The Cards for Hospitalized Kids program is a charitable organization that spreads hope, joy & magic to hospitalized kids through handmade cards filled with positive messages and cheer. We are proud of Mrs. Lotano and her students for thinking of those less fortunate and taking the time to bring smiles to their faces. Thank you!
Alex seeks support from neighbors and family to support the Old Bridge Food Bank. We are so proud of your efforts and your many boxes of canned goods will surely help the families of our community. Thank you for leading by example!
Fifth grade student, Ava C., has donated a total of 32 inches of her beautiful hair since the age of four. In November, Ava donated her hair for the fourth time to the Wigs for Kids Foundation, a nonprofit organization that has been helping children who suffer from hair loss since 1981. The Wigs for Kids organization does not want children to worry about hair loss or their appearance during a medical crisis, and we value Ava's support of their mission. We are so proud of your endless generosity Ava, and you continue to make us proud!
Fourth grade student, Samantha Kazmirek, and her family are creating care packages for the homeless for when they go to New York City this November. Another student in Ms. Sandler's 4th grade class, Kaylee DeMattico, heard of this heartwarming cause and decided to make a care package for her classmate to give to the homeless during the NYC visit.
Dr. Ferry ran a half marathon in Brooklyn on October 11 and helped raise money toward a future sign that will be attached to the building. The 13.2 miles he ran raised $522 toward the Cheesequake sign, thanks to the generosity of Cheesequake parents and staff.
A second grader in Ms. Lovett's class, Alex Ford, at Cheesequake elementary school has taken the Food Drive very seriously this year. He is collecting from his neighbors and calling family friends asking for donations. He then takes those donations and buys food to bring to school for the drive. His grandmother has been helping him. They have already brought in 5 cases of vegetables and 5 bags of groceries. It is people and children like this that make the world a better place.
Fifth grade students from Mrs. Dinney and Ms. Vetri's classes, donated their own personal books from home to build upon Ms. Lovett's second grade library in her classroom. Kindness is Contagious here at Cheesequake!
Mrs. Peggy Volosin, an esteemed Cheesequake retired teacher, graciously donated this beautiful, new carpet to her former school. The carpet is a wonderful, warm addition to Cheesequake's new library. Thank you, Ms. Volosin, for giving back to a school to which you already gave so much.
Alyah is the most recent Cheesequake student to donate her beautiful hair to Locks of Love! Modeled by Mrs. Sandler and Mrs. Viera, Cheesequake's students continue to be inspired to help others and pay it forward through hair donation to cancer patients. You all make us so proud!
