The BMC Immigrant & Refugee Health Center connects all of Boston Medical Center’s existing programs and expertise in immigrant and refugee health care into one central point of entry where any immigrant patient can be connected with all of BMC’s medical, mental health and social services that they need in order to heal, rebuild and thrive. We all know the challenge of navigating a complex health care system.

International Institute of New England

Provides employment training, social services, resettlement services, ESL and adult literacy services for immigrant and refugee population. Services available in 28 languages.

Jewish Family & Children's Service

Provides assessment and treatment of a range of emotional problems from common issues of adjustment to severe behavioral difficulties. Services include individual, couples and family counseling; psychiatric assessment and medication treatment for adults; school and workplace consultation; specialized assistance for adults and children dealing with divorce. Accepts referrals from a variety of sources. Main site in Waltham with offices in Brookline, Worcester, and Danvers.

Mass 2-1-1 Help

Provides services to refugees and immigrants in the areas of citizenship education, cultural transition counseling, English as a Second Language, employment programs, support groups, benefits assistance, immigrant rights groups, and immigration and naturalization legal services.

PAIR Project

Helps asylum-seekers and immigrants in detention. Pro-bono asylum project client with an attorney who prepares presents case before asylum office or detention court. Helps to file the I-589 asylum application and to submit supporting evidence, including the client declaration, expert affidavits, and country condition documentation. Detention Center Program provides "Know Your Rights" seminars, distributes a self-help manual, and provides referrals for reduced fee legal assistance.
