October 25, 2013- In order to develop technology based solutions to local community problems in developing countries the Peace Corps launched the Innovation Challenge.

March 1, 1961- Within weeks of his inauguration, President Kennedy Signs Executive Order 10924, establishing the Peace Corps on a temporary pilot basis.

April 25, 2011-Partnering with the President's Malaria Initiative and Malaria No More, Peace Corps launchd their Stomping Out Malaria in Africa initiative on World Malaria Day. Which allowed 3,000 Peace Corps Volunteers from across the continent to advance in malaria treatment and prevention.

January 2009-Peace Corps joins the inline world by starting a twitter account. Which, shortly after, is followed by a youtube and Facebook account.

1995- Camp GLOW (Girls Leading Our World) was created. Today, Peace Corps Volunteers in over 60 posts worldwide are empowering young women. These camps not only encourage self confidence, but they also challenge campers to think beyond traditional gender roles, and address the unique societal and health issues that young women face in their communities.

April 1, 2013- Zambian software developers and volunteers made an app that could translate English phrases into languages spoken in Zambia. The app is intended to help Peace Corps volunteers, international aid workers, and host country nationals communicate more effectively.
