Steve McCurry is an American editorial photographer best known for his photograph "Afghan Girl" which originally appeared in National Geographic magazine. Well-known for his mesmerizing portrait of a young Afghan refugee girl taken at the Pakistan border in the mid-Eighties, Steve McCurry has since covered many areas of international and civil conflict. Each time he's masterfully focused his lens on the individual affected by such conflict. "Most of my images are grounded in people, and I try to convey what it is like to be that person, a person caught in a broader landscape, that I guess you would call the human condition."
