By Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam With Arun Tiwari.
Wings of Fire: An Autobiography is the story of Kalam's rise from obscurity and his personal and professional struggles, as well as the story of Agni, Prithvi, Akash, Trishul and Nag-missiles that have become household names in India and that have raised the nation to the level of a missile power of international reckoning. This is also the saga of independent India's struggle for technological self-sufficiency and defensive autonomy-a story as much about politics, domestic and international, as it is about science. This book is written for the ordinary people of India for who Dr Kalam has an immense affection, and of who Dr Kalam is certainly one.

From a small boy growing up in Rameswaram, to becoming the country's 11th President, Dr. Kalam's life has been a tale of extraordinary determination, courage, perseverance and the desire to excel. In this series of anecdotes and profiles, Dr. Kalam looks back on key moments in his past and tells the reader how each of them inspired him profoundly. He describes those who have been the closest to him, his father with his deep love of God, his mother and her great kindness, his mentors who helped shape his thoughts and outlook. Nostalgic, honest, and deeply personal, My Journey is the story of a life as rich as it is unusual and the beautiful lessons to be learnt from it.

From enhanced nuclear capability to an unmanned Moon mission, India's scientific achievements in recent years have been spectacular. But, according to the country's best-known scientist Dr. Kalam and his close associate Y.S. Rajan, we've only just begun. The authors focus on the core areas of scientific advancement that are crucial today: space exploration, satellite technology, missile development, food production, health care and communications etc. They discuss Indian breakthroughs within the context of recent progress on the global platform, before outlining a pragmatic vision of technological development that will propel India to the forefront of the world in the decades to come.

In India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium, Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, our most distinguished scientist, and close associate Y.S. Rajan examine India's strengths—and weaknesses—to offer a vision of how India can be among the world's first five economic powers in the year 2020. They cite growth rates and development trends to show that the goal is not an unrealistic one. For example, we were able to launch the green revolution at a time when experts had all but given up on India ever becoming self-sufficient in food. They assert that the same sense of purpose can lead us to success in many other areas crucial to achieving the goal of a prosperous, strong nation.

In The Luminous Sparks, Dr. Kalam says that the poems are the result of peak happiness or sorrow. Common traits of both happiness and sorrow are tears. In one case, tears will be sweet. In another case, it will be salty. Human life is a combination of both.
He quotes few lines by the great Poet Saint Thiruvalluvar, which mean "Successful leaders can never be defeated by problems. They become master of the situation and defeat the problems." This is his message to the readers of this poetry book.
By Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam with R. Narasimha.
Dr. Kalam presents this volume of papers and essays dedicated to Prof Satish Dhawan, and is happy to have the opportunity to honour the man who (among other things) founded fluid dynamics research in India and led the national space programme to its present state of remarkable maturity and sophistication.
This volume is in two loosely-connected parts. The first is a collection of research papers in fluid dynamics, chiefly on subjects Prof Dhawan contributed to or was keenly interested in at one time or the other during his career. The second part highlights the advances made in space technology over the period 1972-1984 when Prof Dhawan led the national space programme.

The book examines why, given all our skills, resources and talents, we, so obviously capable of being the best, settle so often for the worst. What is it that we as a nation are missing? Kalam believes that the people of a nation have the power, but didn't do hard work, to realize their dream of a truly good life. He takes up different issues and themes that struck him on his pilgrimage around the country as he met thousands of school children, teachers, scientists saints and seers in the course of two years. Motivating India's people, and its youth especially, is the central theme of Ignited Minds, which continues the trajectory of thoughts taken up in his earlier two books, Wings of Fire and India 2020: A Vision for the New Millennium.
By Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam with A. Sivathanu Pillai.
The Interactions with students and youth from all parts of the country and the series of lectures given to the engineering students of Anna University, and students of other universities, colleges and schools, resulted in evolving this book. Hence the book is dedicated to the youth and the student community of India. India has a population of 700 million such young minds. Kalam believes that this is a large force, which needs to be harnessed constructively towards a singular mission of making India a developed country. Also, technology is the engine capable of driving a nation towards growth and prosperity, and giving it the necessary competitive edge in the comity of nations.
