A wide array of programming is accessible to elders across Boston and several programs are offered in-home. Each of ABCD’s Neighborhood Service Centers and Area Planning and Action Councils (APACs) also offers senior services targeted to meet the specific needs of local residents.

MBTA Office for Transportation Access

Oversees programs and services for persons with disabilities and senior citizens. Senior and access pass program offers reduced fare passes for eligible persons. Must have application completed by licensed health care provider unless you have a medicare Card, you are a Veteran with a disability rating at or above 70%, or you are receiving services from DMH or DMR. Offers other transportation services such as The Ride.

Peabody Properties, Inc. | Group Adult Foster Care (GAFC)

The Peabody Resident Services, Inc. (PRSI) Home Care (GAFC) Program established in 1995 is designed to serve residents of affordable housing with the goal of providing the support services they may need to help them to remain living in their own homes. PRSI is one of the largest Medicaid Group Adult Foster Care providers in Massachusetts, serving approximately 1750 elders and persons with disabilities in over 500 buildings throughout the state in PPI managed and non-PPI managed buildings.

Helps elderly and low-income men and women. Services include: Alzheimer's/dementia care, adult day programs, affordable housing, assisted living, respite care, and support groups.

Senior Care Options (SCO) | Central Boston Elder Services

Senior Care Options (SCO) programs are approved comprehensive health plans that cover all of the services reimbursable under Medicare and MassHealth through their networks of providers.  SCOs offer MassHealth Standard members age 65 or older care that combines health services with social support services.  The SCO provider networks coordinate and deliver acute, institutional and community-based long term care, as well as mental health and substance abuse services.   Member enrollment is voluntary.
