Main Line School Night turns Harper Lee's new book into a great offering.

Haper Lee and Scout Revisited. Fifty-five years after the Pulitzer Prize-winning "To Kill a Mockingbird" emerged as a classic of American literature, Harper Lee's greatly anticipated "Go Set a Watchman", (HarperCollins) will be released in July 2015. Written in the 1950s, the novel features Scout - the young protagonist in "To Kill a Mockingbird" - as a woman.

Johnston Community School District partners with the city to offer fun, informative programming for kids.

We ♥ working with the City of Johnston! Recently, kids in Safety Town toured the police and fire stations and got a good look at the gear, trucks, cars, and apparel firefighters and police use on a daily basis. What a great learning experience!

Alexandria Community Education hosts a tea part.

Calling all American Girl fans! Join Sharon Bisson, who loves to host tea parties, and discover how much fun it is to cook the American Girl recipes with your doll and your other friends! Open your imagination and make a beautiful hand bag. Create your own cookbook with several recipes from our favorite American Girls, and try some of your own! Time will be spent learning table manners and celebrating with a fun-filled tea party with our dolls! We will also include games and crafts throughout our week! Students should bring their favorite American Girl Doll (students may bring any doll if they do not have an American Girl Doll). Snack will be provided each day as part of the class. Class is Mon-Thu, Jul 27-30, 12:30 - 4:30 PM at Discovery Middle School. Register online at www.alexandria.thatscommunityed.com or call 320-762-3310.
