How often have you trailed an extension cable through your house so that you can cut your hedge or hoover your car? Wouldn't it be so much easier if you could plug your gardening tools in outside? Not only is it much safer and handier to have an outdoor #socket but it is also much cheaper than you would think. Other great reason to have an outdoor socket can be found in our 'Reasons to install an outdoor electrical socket' article.
Changing your light bulbs to LEDs is more expensive initially as each bulb costs more than your standard bulb, however these bulbs use hardly any electricity (90% less) and they will last for over 10 years. Replacing 10 bulbs in your home with LEDs could save you nearly £10 a month.
The other benefit is that it is no longer expensive to have multiple bulbs in one room so you can call in your electrician to create exciting lighting installations like this one in this picture.
If you have just bought a new home and you know it needs re-wired then don't put it off. You might feel safe because you can't see the old wires but there is a real danger of a house fire with old wiring. Also, we use far more electrical appliances and devices nowadays so you can't risk overloading the sockets. This is a great chance to get new sockets added to your home where you need them most.
Installing solar panels is a great way to reduce your electricity bill and your CO2 emissions. Capital City Electrical Services are MSC Certified solar panel installers in Scotland.
If you have bought an electric car or are considering it you will need to think about how your are going to charge it. Some people may be lucky enough to have a big enough garage for the car to charge up inside, otherwise you will need a socket near your drive. If you are in the #Edinburgh area, we can install a new outdoor socket for you. Please get in touch.
Fuseboxes are commonly known as fuse boards and consumer units. If you own an older property it may be time to get your fuseboard replaced and modernised. How do you know if you need one?
If you have a fire or flood you call the Fire Brigade; not an electrician! However, there are times when calling an emergency electrician is exactly what you need to do.
