Acquisition Provides for Growing Cloud Support and IT Managed Services C7 Data Centers (C7), a leading provider of advanced IT, cloud and data center colocation services, announced today it has acquired IntegraTechs Corporation, an IT Managed Services Provider. IntegraTechs is a national provider of IT Support Services including cloud migration, development, security, and IT outsourcing.

Spending on datacenter operations remained steady during the second quarter of 2015 while 25 percent of those administrators responding to a survey said they planned to boost datacenter spending for retrofits over the next 90 days. As datacenter operators hit maximum capacity utilization, however, most are looking to colocation services or cloud service providers rather than building new datacenters.

According to a May 22 Data Center Knowledge article , Phase 2 will add an additional 30,000 square feet to C7's facility, and is projected to be completed by October 2015. Currently, the company's 35,000 square-foot facility, which opened in 2013, is nearing its capacity.

The inexorable rise of big data and the waterfall of unstructured data being generated by connected devices and sensors are fundamentally changing datacenter economics, prompting a growing number of enterprises to consider greater IT virtualization or colocation as they adopt a hybrid cloud approach. Recent market research confirms that datacenter spending continues to increase.

The colocation market continues to undergo consolidation, its three leaders all active participants in mergers and acquisitions, according to Synergy Research. The top-twelve providers in the research firm's Q1 data account for 40 percent of the worldwide market. There is also a long tail of smaller providers with less than 1 percent market share.
