13 Patriotic 4th of July Recipes

A classic white cake gets a patriotic make-over with some creative layering. 2:15 prep time Heat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour 3 (9-inch) round cake pans; set aside. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Set aside. Place sugar and 3/4 cup butter in another bowl; beat at medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, until creamy.

I know I say this frequently, but these are my new favorite cookies and not just because they're red, white and blue! I love how each layer has a different flavor but go so well together. And don't they look like I slaved over them? No such thing happened.

After finally getting around to putting away Easter decorations away, I am really looking all the patriotic holidays coming up. Memorial Day is a huge celebration in our town- a parade, fireworks and lots of fun pool parties thanks to the amazing southern California weather.
