Dubai is the most populous city in the UAE and has emerged as a truly global city, a business hub, a regional shopping destination and an air transport hub and as such offers unending options of things to do.
There are plenty of sightseeing options including a hop on hop off bus that offers 21 stops that cover the main attractions of Dubai. Places to see include the world's tallest sky scraper, Jumeirah the fashionable residential area and Bastakiya with its traditional buildings and a spice souk. Taking a hot air balloon ride over the city, going up 124 floors to the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa and taking a dhow trip on the Dubai Creek are the other interesting ways to see the city. There is entertainment here for the whole family. Wild Wadi Water Park in Jumeirah Dubai has 30 rides ranging from gentle to scary and includes the latest wave riders and slide and tube configurations.
The Lost Chambers of Atlantis is an aquarium housing 65,000 marine and freshwater aquatic species in a unique setting based on the legend of Atlantis. Visitors get to wander through 10 tastefully decorated chambers some several stories high and to participate in interactive programs.
Dubai Creek-Side Park set in 96 acres on the west shore of the Dubai creek is the largest green space in the downtown area. It comprises of a botanic garden, flower gardens, lawns, a dolphinarium and activity areas to be enjoyed by the whole family.
Much of the city's entertainment is also to be found in its humungous malls that house aquaria, Olympic size ice skating rinks, ski slopes, IMAX theaters, 21 screen cinemas, Dubai's largest performing fountain, bowling alleys and community theaters.
Water Sports
Scuba diving, sports fishing, yachting, wind surfing, jet skiing, water skiing, parasailing and surfboarding are among scores of water sports visitors can enjoy. Dubai's unspoiled beaches are among its biggest attractions. While the main public beaches are located along Jumeirah Beach Road, several beach clubs and hotels have private beaches. Recreational sailing is another very popular activity. Dubai's excellent well equipped sailing clubs offers mooring and catering facilities, accommodation and yacht and boat charters.
Golf
The Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club offers an eighteen-hole par 71, 6,967 yard championship floodlit course. The club's marina is ISO certified and has berthing capacity for 212 private boats up to a maximum of 165 ft. The club's facilities are impeccable.
