Garages

I try to keep the garage entry to the house tidy, as that's the one everyone uses. But, I've never thought to turn it into an impromptu mudroom. It's a great idea for those without a proper mudroom (me), plus, it keeps the mud where it belongs: in the garage.

Garage is not only a storage shelter for your vehicle, but also a multipurpose storage center for house ware items, garden tools, outdoor sports equipment and workshop crafts. Organizing your garage can be a lengthy and costly process, but it will save you time and eventually money.

It's that time of year! The organization bug kicks in - and I'm betting there are more than a few of you out there that have a garage in need of some organizational help asap. My brother recently added some awesome DIY Garage Storage Cabinets and took some pictures to share the step-by-step process with everyone, wahoo!

Seriously, this is one for the books. Our garage was a disaster. And the space was so poorly used that every time we went in there I felt overwhelmed. It took a lot of work, but with the help of The Home Depot, we tamed that beast!

To say this has been a long time coming is an understatement. I began the journey of completely finishing and organizing my garage back in MARCH and now (5 months later) I am ready to show the "new" garage to you: Can you believe that is the same place? Wait..

This is our laundry room. 'Room' is actually an overstatement. It's more like a nook. In the garage. We made over this nook in the spring, then I snapped a few pictures on our way out the door to a weekend trip at El Capitan.

Bring on the champagne, red roses, and romantic music. I've officially fallen in love. With the barn garage. The goal of the Fall in Love Challenge was to FINISH a project that was hanging over our heads. And I teamed up with some amazing bloggers who knocked this challenge out of the park.

Garages are works in progress. About three times a year, I give my garage a good tidy. Each time I do this, I try to focus on improving something. When you've got a good organizing foundation, everything else is just a little tweak.
