Iconography The image on the Eight of Swords is another image that seems to hold a certain degree of darkness. The woman shown on the card is not only tied up, but is also blindfolded. She stands alone amongst the eight swords which seem to almost create a semicircle around her.
Iconography The image on the Ace of Swords portrays an ominous hand wrapped around a single sword which is adorned with a crown. The crown bears a multitude of foliage which drapes from the crown. The landscape behind is full of hills and valleys which seem to be bare, and the sky lays slate against the glowing nature of the hand and sword.
Iconography The image of the Eight of Cups immediately evokes feeling of solitude and isolation. The young man who stands in the distance, who has turned his back to the eight cups. The landscape around him is vast and winding, yet he travels on holding himself up by a walking stick.
Iconography When you cast your eyes upon the Ace of Wands they are met with a hand that reaches from the clouds, grasping at a wand that is still developing. Depicting a perfect scene of opportunity and spiritual offering towards growth and personal development.
Iconography The grandiose image on the Ace of Cups is a beautiful chalice that overflows with five separate streams of water. It sits atop an ominous hand, which seems to radiate a strong influence. Above the chalice is a single dove, holding a small disc in it's mouth.
Iconography The image upon the Eight of Wands displays eight newly blossomed wands thrusting through the sky at an almost alarming rate. The flights of the wands bring to attention to a sudden change or moment of travel, which suggests that nearly nothing stands in their way.
Iconography The young man on the image of the Eight of Pentacles is laboring away at his eight pentacles. Though some are already hanging, his actively working to etch the image of the pentacle into the coin he holds in his hands. He is alone, and clearly has been working on this in solitude.
Iconography Upon the Ace of Pentacles is a hand that seems summoned from the sky, emerging from a lush and picturesque cloud, holding in it's palm a five-pointed star. Beneath the hand rests a lush landscape, vibrant and ready to support life which indicates that with this lush garden comes not only growth, but great financial stability.

Iconography The image of the card shows a naked woman who kneels by the water, with one foot in the water, while with the other one on the land. Above the woman's head, shines a star. She holds jugs in each of her hands, with one pouring liquid into the water, while with other pouring liquid onto the land.
Iconography The modern versions of the card, such as Raider-Waite deck, represent The Hanged man as a man who hangs upside-down by one foot. Usually, the hanging male figure is suspended from a wooden beam (as it would be in a gallows or cross), or even a tree.
Iconography The card of The Lovers is represented by the imagery of Adam and Eve, standing in front of the apple tree and a snake, as their sin. The garden of Eden is shown with a field and a mountain in the centre.
Iconography Rider-Waite tarot deck describes a card of Fool as a young man who was unknowingly toward the precipice's brink. Such depiction of Fool is present also in other esoteric decks which are meant for the cartomancy. In addition of a young man to this tarot card, a small dog is also portrayed with a young man.
If you study this one long enough to understand each symbol and why Crowley put it on the card, you'll gain remarkable insights.
This was my third deck. This is a very popular deck, and has been around much longer than most decks you will find today. Many consider it a traditional deck and some swear by it as the only deck. As much as I respect and appreciate Aleister Crowley I didn't find it very inspiring. Some of the artwork is simply amazing, but the cards didn't speak to me the way other decks do. The person I gave it to loves it though, so definitely worth checking out, especially if you are and Aleister Crowley fan.
