Despite the raging issues arising because of the legalization of distribution, planting, and putting the marijuana plant in research, the Drug Enforcement Administration is even asking more of its stock. The federal government was requested to produce more marijuana, which is actually triple the number of what they are expecting from DEA. The research department demanded that additional of 900 pounds should be available for research in 2015.
Headed by Michele Leonhart, the DEA Administrator stated that the government needs more supply of marijuana because of the unanticipated demands for extensive research of this plant. The industrial needs of the United States clamor for more supply that the number required could go beyond what was projected for 2015. The initial request of 276 pounds now turns into 882 pounds.
