## DragonBox Algebra 5+

DragonBox Algebra 5+ - The game that secretly teaches algebra

DragonBox Algebra 5+ Is perfect for giving young children a head start in mathematics and algebra. Children as young as five can easily begin to grasp the basic processes involved in solving linear equations without even realising that they are learning. The game is intuitive, engaging and fun, allowing anyone to learn the basics of algebra at his or her own pace.

DragonBox Algebra 5+ covers the following algebraic concepts:

• Division
• Multiplication

Suitable from age five and up, DragonBox Algebra 5+ gives young learners the opportunity to get familiar with the basics of equation solving.

DragonBox uses a novel pedagogical method based on discovery and experimentation. Players learn how to solve equations in a playful and colorfull game environment where they are encouraged to experiment and be creative. By manipulating cards and trying to isolate the DragonBox on one side of the game board, the player gradually learns the operations required to isolate X on one side of an equation. Little by little, the cards are replaced with numbers and variables, revealing the addition, division and multiplication operators the player has been learning throughout the game.

Playing does not require supervision, although parents can assist them in transferring learned skills into pen and paper equation solving. It is a great game for parents to play with their kids and can even give them an opportunity to freshen up their own math skills.

DragonBox was developed by former math teacher Jean-Baptiste Huynh and has been heralded as a perfect example of game-based learning. As a result, it is currently forming the basis of an extensive research project by the Center For Game Science at the University of Washington.

## Mathbit. Review and study Maths (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions) like at school.

END OF YEAR OFFER: 50% DISCOUNT
Consolidate your maths in order to complete the school year successfully! Take advantage of our 50% discount and revise your addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions.

Mathbit is an application to help children learn Mathematics, and for the not so young to maintain an active mind.

Mathbit and Mental Calculation
Mathbit teaches mathematics and reinforces mental calculation, since all the operations must be resolved and you do not have the option to simply select one answer from various possibilities. So by completing more and more operations, you increase mental agility.

Structure
Mathbit consists of 6 blocks of activities. Each block presents different types of mathematical operations which follow the normal learning curve of schools. Students can therefore follow at the same pace as they do in school.

Types of activities
Each block presents different activities, such as additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions, fractions and natural and decimal numbers. All of them are selected at random, and therefore the possibilities are virtually endless.

Motivation
Not only does Mathbit help to practice resolving mathematical operations, but it also proposes challenges in relation to the time taken and the number of operations resolved. In this way it motivates the user to carry out the operations with greater agility. Furthermore, points (mathcoins) and achievements are awarded when correct answers are given: these can be used to personalize the user’s appearance.

Charting
Mathbit presents a section with statistics to make a chart of the activities achieved.

IMPORTANT: Mathbit is a free application in that it gives the user free access to two operation levels from each block. To access the other levels of a block, the user must purchase that block.

## Crazy Gears

Kick your child’s learning into high gear!

*** Featured worldwide by App Store as a Best New App ***
*** Children's Technology Review Awards 2015 ***
*** App of the week by Fun2Tap ***
*** Best of the Best by Best Apps For Kids ***

Explore a captivating digital playground in this tantalizing puzzle game! Children manipulate gears, chains, rods, and pulleys, to pull themselves through each level, which teaches them how different mechanisms affect one another when constructing a machine. Each reasoning challenge was carefully designed to adhere to the theories of educational technology pioneer, mathematician, computer scientist, and designer of the first programming language for children, Seymour Papert.

“The best use of games is to leverage their tendency to enhance learning”- Papert
Recommended Ages 5-9

As a child, Papert fell in love with gears. Their movement fascinated him in every way and inspired his career. Crazy Gears was conceived not only as a tribute to him, but with the hope of providing a child with the inspiration to discover and understand the physical properties of mechanisms found in their everyday lives. Such complex notions include tension, motion, and gravity. We achieve this by encouraging the child to manipulate the objects in each level to determine how they work together to accomplish a goal. Interactions with technology give kids the power to construct their understanding of STEM subjects in meaningful ways. Here we engage them in play that does just that!

FEATURES
• No rules
• No explicit instructions
• Kid-Friendly Design
• Powerful Artificial Intelligence
• Seamless Interaction
• Multiple Language Support

## Thinkrolls

Set your child’s mind in motion. Thinkrolls are the 22 hilarious characters in this educational app that's one part rolling ball platformer, one part physics puzzler and 100% irresistible for kids 3-8.

** Reached #2 Education and #3 Kids app in the US App Store **
** Featured 'Best New App' in App Store's Home Page in more than 70 countries **

• A 2015 Parents’ Choice Silver Award Winner
• Featured on USA Today as one of the 10 TOP Kids Apps of 2014!
• 148Apps: "Thinkrolls has actually become a family affair...I enthusiastically recommend it."
• Common Sense Media: [5 stars] "Adorable physics platformer creates little problem-solvers."
• TeachersWithApps: "Thinkrolls is another smash hit by these ingenious and award winning developers."
• Editors' Choice by TechWithKids, BestAppsForKids, FunEducationalApps, AppySmarts

Kids will have a blast navigating their Thinkrolls through a series of obstacles in brightly patterned mazes. Each chapter introduces a new object with unique physical properties which kids discover through hands-on manipulation. Little players encounter and use to their advantage force, acceleration, buoyancy, heat, elasticity and gravity to get their Thinkrolls where they need to go.

Thinkrolls has all the trappings of popular platformer and physics puzzlers, but it incorporates a wealth of educational content. It appeals to children’s natural curiosity and challenges them with gameplay that fosters creativity and out-of-the-box thinking. Each of the 104 easy and 103 harder levels gradually build upon successive lessons to strengthen observation, reasoning, problem solving, spatial cognition and memory.

There's no failure here. As kids try different combinations to clear a path through the maze, they intuitively learn through trial and error what works. There's also a strong element of executive function. Kids must plan out their moves in advance, use precise timing and rely on their memory to reunite their Thinkroll buddies. Parents can virtually see the wheels spinning in their children’s heads as they orchestrate their moves.

CHAPTER DESCRIPTIONS

Cookie - Kids get accustomed to the fine motor skills needed to navigate the mazes as they munch cookies to clear a path.

Crate - Any child who has pushed a chair up to the kitchen counter in order to reach the cookie jar will know what to do with the crates.

Balloon - Buoyancy gets added to the mix as kids burst balloons on spikes.

Rock - Kids get a crash course in Newtonian physics as they discover that dropping a heavy, dense boulder will generate enough force to break through cracked ground.

Jelly - Bouncing on beds isn't necessary when there’s a springy jelly available to launch the Thinkroll out of valleys and up onto peaks.

Fire - The crackling sound of flames will alert kids to a burning hazard ahead, but ice blocks put out the fire.

Elevator - The culmination of everything kids have discovered and processed so far has them coordinating all the elements as they synchronize movements of two different elevators.

Bonus - Theory of Everything in action! Combination of all elements and forces in even more challenging puzzles

## Math Doodles

• 2012 Parents' Choice Gold Award winner - Parents' Choice Foundation

• 2012 Editor's Choice Award for Excellence in Design - Children'sTechnology Review *

"Daren says that he “designs Math Doodles to provide a place where anyone can discover the joy, wonder, and fun of mathematics.” My family would say that he’s succeeded in doing just that."

• The iPhone Mom

"Beautiful, fun, and engaging! I think it is a must have for a classroom set of iPads, and it's a beautiful example of what math games should be."

• Game Lab Mom

It wasn't until after my school years, that I became a lover of math. I managed to slip through all of those classes, text books, and homework assignments, without learning one of the most important math lessons of all. Math IS FUN!
I design Math Doodles to provide a place where anyone can discover the joy, wonder, and fun of mathematics.

This version of "Math Doodles" introduces four challenges plus an additional functional sneak peek challenge that will be made available in it's finished form in a future free update. Each Challenge provides plenty of mathematical practice, within a recreational math setting. The mathematical puzzles allow users to play, explore, and experiment with mathematical concepts, while developing and strengthening their strategy and problem solving skills. Math Doodles challenges are designed to allow for multiple solutions and strategies. There isn't only one correct answer.

THE CHALLENGES:

1. Sums Stackers: Values are piled into three stacks. Each stack is randomly assigned a target sum. Move values and sets of values around with the tip of your finger from stack to stack until the sums of each stack equal the target sums represented at the bottom of the screen. The values can be represented in 22 different ways that vary in their level of abstraction: preschoolers might start with the fingers, dice or ringlets, because they can be easily counted, while older children or adults can find a challenge with coins, roman numerals, the word spelled in Spanish, or even binary.

2. Connect Sums: Users develop their number sense by trying to clear series of random values presented in a 4x4 array. Selected values are cleared when their sum equals the target sum. Users can choose from 22 different value representations and two levels of difficulty.

3. Unknown Square: Users begin to explore algebraic thinking by developing strategies to solve for unknowns found in a 3x3 array of values. Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal sums for the values are shown.

4. Splat Go Round : Users develop an understanding for rotations by experiencing math in action. Users rotate a fly swatter to splat a target fly. Users can choose from several rotational modes including clock hours, clock minutes, angles, and fractions.

5. Sneak Peek Challenge - Pattern Twist : Develop spatial visualization of patterns while solving this Math Doodle puzzle.

CHALLENGE MODES:

1. Solve Mode: Strategically solve five random sets in the fewest number of moves.

2. Infinity Mode: Play as long as you wish.

3. Race Mode: Rack up as many points as you can solving puzzles, before time runs out.

Each challenge has an easy mode and a hard mode:
