Patients face harrowing time in Kolkata hospitals as doctors go on strike

Many patients had a harrowing time as majority of doctors were not available on duty. Swapan Das, an aged man, was rushed to SSKM Hospital on April 30 for spinal injury. But rather than carrying out an emergency examination doctors referred him to Bangur Institute of Neurology (BIN) on the plea that there was no doctor available to attend to him due to strike.
