Circuits

S8P5. Students will recognize characteristics of gravity, electricity, and magnetism as major
kinds of forces acting in nature.
b. Demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of series and parallel circuits and how
they transfer energy.

Students will be provided all resources needed for this lesson:
1.Students must select 2-3 resources for notes and information
2. Students must Select 2 practice activities
3. Students will all build a circuit as their performance task asessment

Circuits

Resource
This is a quick introduction to both circuits.

BBC - Schools Science Clips - Changing circuits

Practice Assignment
This site will help you build your circuits and allow you to see circuits as a diagram and the model view. Familiar yourself with both visuals. A quiz is provided at the end. assess yourself

BBC - Schools Science Clips - Circuits and conductors

Practice building circuits with the use of different types of conductors. take the quiz at the end

Building Circuits with more than one bulb and power source

Practice Website which allows you to build a circuit using more than one battery.
What do you think will happen if each bulb has its own power source?

Circuit Guide

Resource and Practice this 5 section module teaches the lesson, allows you to do a small activity with the information learned and a small quiz

Electrical Circuits - Series and Parallel -For Kids

An electric circuit is a pathway made up of wires .Electrons can flow through these. There is a power component like a battery or some other electric source that gives force to electrons to move.In this video on circuits ,kids can learn differences between parallel circuits and simple circuits. The benefits of series and parallel circuits are also explained. Also we can learn to draw an electricity circuit on a paper.

T3 6 Bill Nye Electric circuits

Bill Nye explains Circuits

Circuit Construction Kit (DC Only)

An electronics kit in your computer! Build circuits with resistors, light bulbs, batteries, and switches. Take measurements with the realistic ammeter and voltmeter. View the circuit as a schematic diagram, or switch to a life-like view.
