Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia, is one of Southeast Asia's global cities. The National Monument

The most culturally and historically significant attraction in Jakarta is the National Monument. Located in the centre of Merdeka Square, this monument symbolizes the struggle faced by Indonesians to create an independent and free Indonesia. The monument consists of a 132m tall column rising from a foundation block. On top of the column lies a gold plated structure, which resembles a torch. The outer yard of the monument contains numerous reliefs which depict various significant chapters in Indonesia's struggle for independence. In the evenings, lights are projected to the column of the National Monument, which truly is an awe-inspiring sight. The National History Museum is also located in close proximity to the National Monument, and houses and range of historic artifacts and diaromas.

Taman Mini Indonesia Indah

Literally translating to 'Miniature Park of Indonesia', Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is one of the most unique cultural attractions Jakarta has to offer. This park is considered to be the tourist attraction with the largest landscape in Jakarta, and offers an amazing preview of the culture of Indonesia. The park is home to numerous museums and attractions showcasing Indonesian culture, traditions, lifestyle, arts and crafts, engineering, and many cultural artifacts. Ancol
