Places to Eat in Macau – do your taste buds justice!

Locating someplace to eat in Macau is simply a piece of cake. And most places offer a good opportunity to have excellent Macau style cuisine. Most hotels offer shuttle services free, but in case they do not, the cabs are also available widely for a reasonable rate.

Seng Cheong Restaurant

This restaurant is very much popular for crab congee. Stepping inside, you can go for frog leg congree as well. The restaurant also offers deep fried squid balls and deep fried salted frog legs too. Any of this cuisine will go very well with a bottle of ice-cold San Miguel Beer. Most people would opt for fried squid balls, but the fried frog legs is the restaurant's signatory dish. For it is fried until it turns crisp. Most fans of fried frog legs would call it juicy and tasty and find a wonderful flavour in the meat. Speaking about the beer, the San Miguel beer was founded in Philippines and brewed in Hong Kong. You will taste bittersweet, but with a soft feel. The beer goes fine with any food offered in the restaurant. You can buy most of these food for a song. Crab congree is somewhat pricy, and even the small portion comes in a large size.

Koi Kei Bakery

Well, moving from hot and spicy, Koi Kei Bakery is a welcome option. The bakery offers almond cakes, egg rolls, crunchy peanut candies and beef/pork jerky. This is the ideal place you must visit if you have an addicted sweet tooth. All the pastries available here have a fresh outlook. In these soft-made pastries you see traditional style infused into modern lifestyle. Classic examples are Almond Cake with Shredded Pork, Almond Cookie with Chocolate, Pheonix Egg Roll with Seaweed and Shredded Pork. This said, what was once preserved in the ancient is nicely presented to the present and future generation.

Tai Lei Loi Kei

This is a place where you can savour the finest pork chops. Each slice offers you a sweet, fresh, juicy and soft taste. This restaurant also offers toasted bun which is crispy on both sides. Have the bun with a piece of grilled meat tucked inside, and it will taste heavenly. This idea of having pork with the bun is superb, and it will taste even better. Pui Kei Café

This café's signatory dish is crispy pork chop noodles. That dish is quite tasty, but you should have luck to get here. The restaurant is not open at times. It is open only from time to time. However, it is always worth to give it a try.

Mok Yi Kei

Do not stuff your tummy with main meals, if you intend to visit this place. If you do, then you will miss the delicious desserts. You should try out durian ice cream and sawdust pudding. And also you will be treated to a host of other delicious desserts.

Wong Chi Kei

This place is easy to locate as it is situated at Senado Square. If you are still in Taipa village, your journey will take only five kilometres to get to Wong Chi Kei. For a cab, it will take only 15 minutes. The five-kilometre journey is fully worth as the restaurant is quite popular with its signatory cuisine of braised egg noodles with shrimp roe. You can have this meal with prawn dumplings. Do not forget to try out deep fried dumplings too.
