In the midst of the glitz and glamor of Hollywood's celebration of all that was the film industry over the past year, my attention was focused on only one thing. How many people who won an award at the Oscars would actually thank God in their acceptance speech?
For the past few months we have consistently heard of the rampant brutality of the Islamic terrorist group "ISIS." We have heard of crucifixions, beheadings, the burning alive of a Jordanian pilot, and the all-too-frequent mass-killings. The hands of this evil group drip with the blood of slain innocents and demonstrate the utter brutality of those who hold no regard for human life.
I thought I'd share some of my tips for how I read the Word, and perhaps some of you might find these helpful as you read the Word. One thing I do my best to be careful of when I read Scripture is to not see what I want to see.
What helps in finding the right church? Many people have personal preferences as to the kind of church they like. Some people prefer a church that plays loud music, a church that has a charismatic preacher, and a number of other things.
As I was home this evening, I decided to take a view of some of the popular primetime television shows tonight on ABC. The Thursday night line up is ironically called "Thank God it's Thursday". There's many examples throughout Scripture of God using what would be considered by the world useless for His glory. In this inspiring video that I found on youtube, we're given a highlight of the small things throughout Scripture God used, and how much more it means that God can use us for His glory too.
As I was reading through the story of man's creation in Genesis, I found myself pondering things. Given Adam and Eve were the first humans ever to be in existence, perhaps they provide us a lot of interesting insights into who we are.
In a funny video to start off your day, a man appears embarrassed to be caught on camera going to see Fifty Shades of Grey. What would have been just being seen on one news organization, has now turned into a viral video. I can only imagine the dialogue that was narrating in his head.
