Ecosystem

Examples of Food Chains
Food chain refers to the sequence of events in an ecosystem, where one organism eats another and then is eaten by another organism. It starts with the primary source like the sun or hydrothermal vents where producers make food, continues with consumers or animals who eat the food, and ends with the top predator.
Food Chains and Food Webs
Did you know that every time you run or jump, your body is using energy? Do you know where that energy comes from? IT COMES FROM THE SUN! It's the sunshine hitting the earth that keeps life going! Thanks to some very special life forms, like green plants, we have the carbohydrates that we use as the fuel to live and grow.
4th Grade Science - Life - Food Chains and Webs
Food Chains Standard 2a Students know plants are the primary source of matter and energy entering most food chains Standard 2b Students know producers and consumers (herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, and decomposers) are related in food chains and food webs and may compete with each other for resources in an ecosystem 1.
