Reasons to watch 'ROY' the film

Ranbir Kapoor is known to be choosy about his films but is very open to working with new directors and Vikramjit Singh is no different. He makes his debut with this film. In fact, Vikramjit is reportedly a close friend of Ranbir from college. Actor Arjun Rampal took to Twitter to thank the director, "And now please welcome the man responsible for bringing us #roy @vicktalker the super talented Vicky Singh in da house. Show him love. Said to be Ranbir's close friend from college," [sic] he tweeted. It will be interesting to see how the director will pull this one differently, considering there have been many heist movies in Bollywood.

Jacqueline Fernandez made her debut with Aladin in 2009 and went on to do films like Housefull, Murder 2 and the recent blockbuster Kick, where she was paired opposite Salman Khan. For the first time, she will share screen space with the Kapoor scion where she will romance Ranbir. Jacqueline too has taken to social media to talk about the film extensively. On her Instagram account, she spoke about the film's significance, "#Roy wrap!! One of my most challenging movies till date but so worth it because I had such an amazing supportive team with me throughout this journey! Love you #teamroy see ya at the premiere!!" [sic] Will she create the same magic that she did with Salman Khan in Kick? Only time will tell!

After the success of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and the poor performance of Besharam at the box office, Ranbir was not to be seen on the silver screen for a long time, over one and a half years to be precise. Whatever Ranbir does, is highly anticipated as he is one of the brightest stars of his generation and has even impressed his seniors with performances in films like Barfi! Rockstar, Rajneeti to name a few. Following in the footsteps of Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan in the Dhoom series, Ranbir too will play thief in this film. It's definitely worth the wait!

This romantic thriller revolves around Arjun, Ranbir and Jacqueline. Arjun plays a film director whose hero is none other than Ranbir Kapoor. Ranbir, whose name in the film is also Roy, is actually a big thief who has pulled off impossible heists. He has dodged bullets, chased cars and yet, no authority has been able to get to him. Jacqueline Fernandez has a double role and will be seen essaying the role of a film director. This is the first time that the Kapoor lad will be seen in a romantic thriller.

Arjun Rampal, Ranbir Kapoor and Jacqueline Fernandez coming together on the silver screen is a first. While Arjun was last seen in D-Day, Jacqueline has been riding high on the success of Kick that has been one of the biggest blockbusters of 2014. She plays both Arjun and Ranbir's love interest in the film. In fact, Arjun Rampal has been very excited about the film, from the teaser to the trailer release online and has constantly been updating his fans on micro blogging site Twitter. Ranbir will be seen with the two actors for the first time as well and it will be a sheer treat to watch this story unfold on the big screen.
