The Las Vegas of the Far East, Macau is an exciting city full of glamorous places to see. For a wholesome holiday in this part of China here a few places that you just cannot miss in Macau.

Macau is the Casino hub of China and houses a total of thirty three Casinos around the city! Colorful and full of glamour, the casino is one place that you cannot leave Macau without visiting. The largest in Macau is the "The Venetian Macao" which also happens to be the biggest Casino in the world. The towering magnitude of the building which dazzles with flamboyant lighting at night time is certainly something worthy of awe. A lot of casinos in Macau are part of a bigger hotel group like the city of dreams is part of the Hard Rock Hotel and the Galaxy Macau is part of the Galaxy Macau Hotel Resort. Most casinos are scattered throughout the city however, travelling between them is hardly a hassle since free shuttle services are offered by the Galaxy hotel and several other casino resorts. If you really enjoy Casino hunting make sure that you don't miss the Casino Lisboa, Wynn macau and the grand MGM Macau.

To experience a more subtle side of Macau, pay a visit to the simple and charming Taipai village. Another world compared to all the glitz of the casinos, this quaint little village is a soothing getaway that is adorned by an array of rustic Chinese/Portuguese restaurants and shops. Taipai Village is known above all for its exemplary local cuisine which is authentic in every bite. Stroll along the Rua Do Cunha Street and try out anything your heart desires, the best part is that it all comes at very reasonable prices.

Once the official civic square of Macau, this elegant town square in the heart of the city is paved with traditional Portuguese mosaic which is considered historic. A large fountain adorns the center of the square where a pleasant view of the surrounding can be enjoyed. Being a popular tourist spot in the city, the Senado square house a significant number of good eateries and a number of Macau's popular attractions are located in close proximity to the square as well.

Kun Iam Statue

Kun Iam Statue
A bronze statue of the goddess of mercy, the Kum Iam statue towers at a height of 32 meters. Built atop a tower that is shaped like a lotus flower, the statue faces Macau in order to provide protection to the city. The Kum Iam has an aura of tranquility and just looking at it is a relaxing activity. Visit the Kum Liam as the sun makes its way down; the sight is truly something to be savored.

At a height of 388 meters the Macau Tower looms as the land mark of the Macau city. Complete with a shopping center, theatre, restaurants and an exquisite observation deck, this attraction is more like an entertainment center rather than a mere monument in the city.
