Municipal Corporation of Khajuraho
Khajuraho, famous for its magnificent temples and now a world heritage site, was built during 950- 1050 AD with great artistic wonders by the Chandelas.
During the year 1976 the Special Area Development Authority was set up and it worked till 1998 as Civil Management Council. In 1999, a Municipal Council was set up by the Madhya Pradesh
Government for overall development of the town and it has exceeded the established standards of performance of a normal civic body with active participation of local community and civic bodies. It effectively meets all the challenges created due to the different setup of Khajuraho.
