10 Inspirational Women Under 30

This is the age of women like Malala Yousafzai. Here is my list of top ten women under 30 who should be an inspiration to every little girl.

1

Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai

Known mainly for her human rights activism and support for women’s education in Swat Valley of Pakistan. Malala Yousafzai was shot three times for her contribution to the society. Her story is nothing less than heroic. At age 17, Yousafzai is the youngest-ever Nobel Prize laureate. Despite the attempted assassination she continues her work to establish right to education as an inherent right for women.

Emma Watson

Emma Watson

Playing Hermione Granger, the best female character ever made, 24 year old Emma Watson surely deserves a place in my list. Sophisticated, down to earth, feminine, intelligent she's our real life Hermione Granger. One should definitely listen to her UN speech on feminism and her #HeforShe campaign. She is officially the UN's Women’s Goodwill Ambassador. Half bloods, Muggle borns, witches and wizards, there's literally no soul who can hate her.

you

Of course it's you! Before you take inspiration from someone else you should inspire yourself. So all you lovely ladies, you are special and beautiful individuals.

2

Kiera Knightely

Kiera Knightely

Known for starring mainly in period dramas, her version of 'Pride and Prejudice' will always be my favorite. Having her chest manipulated in my many magazines to appear more buxom, she finally put a stop to it by posing topless for an issue of 'Interview' on a condition that her photos be not manipulated. In her own words, "women's bodies are a battleground and photography is partly to blame."
Big women, small women - Women are women! We need to stop categorizing and shaming each other. Yes! I'm talking to you Meghan Trainor!

3

Adele

Adele

The list is endless when it comes to the number of awards she has won. With a prominent voice, Adele has delivered some really beautiful songs. Constantly criticized about her figure people forget that is very happy with it. Never has she shamed another woman for her skinny waist. Girls should take their sophistication training from her.

Saina Nehwal

Saina Nehwal

All of 24 years of age, Saina Nehwal is the first Indian to win a medal in Badminton at the Olympics. She is the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships and was also the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament, by clinching the Indonesia Open on 21 June 2009.
That's a lot of 'firsts' that she has established. A truly significant personality in the sports sector, she has been the reason many girls have looked at sports in a new direction. She has made India proud and is continuing to do so.

5

Anne Frank

Anne Frank

While hiding from German forces in Netherlands, Anne was gifted a diary by her father at the age of 13. She recounted a personal experience of holocaust in this diary which was later published and became one of the most read books around the world. Anne died at the age of 15.

6

Nirbhaya

Nirbhaya

23-year-old female physiotherapy intern was beaten and gang raped in a private bus in which she was travelling with a male friend. There were six others in the bus, including the driver, all of whom raped the woman and beat her friend. The woman died from her injuries thirteen days later while undergoing emergency treatment in Singapore. The incident generated widespread national and international coverage and was widely condemned, both in India and abroad. Subsequently, public protests against the state and central governments for failing to provide adequate security for women took place in New Delhi, where thousands of protesters clashed with security forces. Similar protests took place in major cities throughout the country.

7

Mary Kom

A force to reckon with and the winner of the third most prestigious civilian award, Mary Kom is an example of how much women can achieve.

9

Rani Lakshmibai

Rani Lakshmibai

Referred to as the Indian Joan of Arc, Rani Lakshmibai was truly a badass. Leading her people against Englishmen, she has been a great resistance to the rule of British East India Company in the subcontinent of India. Losing one's child and husband in a span of two years was a tragedy she faced but quickly looked at the bigger picture that her people needed her. She died at the age of 29.
She should be an inspiration to not just women but men too.
