Tumut is famous for vineyards filled with grapes in vibrant green, purple and dark red. There is only one name synonymous to grapes and it is wines; something that Tumut flaunts in abundance. For all those wine lovers out there, the Bondoora Wines is a famous stop over. Located on the Bondoora Road off the Snowy Mountain Highway to the south of town this is the most popular winery in the town of Tumut. It is rather small the winery, yet the range of wines on offer have some of the most unique flavors. The winery is open for tasting during weekends or tasting can be personally pre arranged at other days during the week.

12 kilometers from the town of Tumut is one of the most beautiful spots in NSW called the Blowering Dam. On the outskirts of the Tumut town on the Snowy Mountains Highway, the dam is located on the way to Cooma. Although the journey to the dam takes a while, once you lay eyes on this picturesque scenery you will realize that it is absolutely worth the while. The dam boasts a massive height with its walls alone towering a height of 120 meters. Apart from the unparalleled scenic appeal the dam also boasts being the site where the world's longest water-ski run occurred. Famous water ski professional Ken Warby also broke all records as he travelled across the Blowering Dam on ski's at 510.45 km/hour in 1978.

There is something mystical and fascinating in Tumuts famous Yarrangobilly caves. Located in the northern end of the Kosciuszko National Park, these remarkable caves are found amidst deep gorges and rugged bluffs of the Yarrangobilly River Valley. With a history that goes back several thousand years this series of limestone caves is adorned with a collection of stunning decorations which includes grand colomns, delicate shawls, mystique chambers and even underwater pools. The highlight of the Yarrangobilly Caves is the 27 degree thermal pool which is heavenly for a dip.
