Physical Layer (PHY)

In the seven-layer OSI model of computer networking, the physical layer or layer 1 is the first (lowest) layer. The implementation of this layer is often termed PHY. The physical layer consists of the basic networking hardware transmission technologies of a network.

Wireless Protocols

GLOBAL CELLULAR CONNECTIVITY FOR THE INTERNET OF THINGS - Sigfox has an extensive network of base stations all over Europe, which run on a narrow-band (868 / 902) Mhz spectrum. This is a low power alternative to a cellular network. which allows you to send and receive data, and create a low-power wide area network (LPWAN).

Antennas

Antennas are an enabling technology for the Internet of Things. In order to increase range and efficiency of a given, "end of network," device or hub, it is often important to start with the antenna, due to limitations inherent in physics. Materials used to construct antennas will not likely change as fast as semiconductor materials, meaning that miniaturization will not occur at as fast of a pace. Hence a good rule of thumb for a lot of applications is, "start with the antenna!"

Electronic Hardware Enablement & Prototyping Tools

Electronic Hardware Enablement & Prototyping Tools includes everything from software used to quickly and efficiently create electronics and 3D items to ready-made prototype electronics and cases. Anything that decreases the build cycle time.
