8 Things SEO Is Not

When it comes to SEO, there’s more contradicting information out there than most people know what to do with. Some argue that SEO is dead, while others argue that it’s more relevant than ever. But, some people are still sitting there wondering what SEO even is. Well, maybe by knowing what it’s not, you’ll learn what it is.

So many people will argue that an advertising agency in Utah will be wasting clients’ time by practicing SEO techniques because SEO is dead, This, however, couldn’t be more inaccurate. Every business in today’s world should be using SEO to promote their business.

One Size Fits All

All businesses are different, which is why what works for a ski shop in Utah, won’t work for a dentist in New York. It’s important to cater content and techniques to the needs of the individual company.

Once and Done

With SEO, you can’t just post a few things online one time and call it good. Search rankings are ever evolving, which is why content must be updated and posted frequently in order to stay at the top.

Always the Same

SEO is an evolving practice. Google and other search engines are always changing their algorithms, which means companies should stay up to date and make sure to change their practices according to algorithm changes.

One post online, or one SEO technique execution does not mean your site is going to instantly be ranked number one on Google. SEO isn’t magic, but with the right techniques and a little time, optimum results can be reached.

An Overnight Process

Seriously, SEO isn’t magic. It’s not an overnight process that’s going to revolutionize your site’s traffic after a one good post. It takes time, effort and patience mixed with the right combination of SEO techniques.

A Headache

Although it may seem like SEO is confusing or time consuming, it’s really not a headache. Hiring an SEO company that knows the ins and outs is the best way to make SEO a breeze.

Not Important

A lot of places, like a mom and pop shop in Utah, may think they’re online presence is unnecessary since they’ve been in business for so long. While that idea may have been okay 20, even 10 years ago, times are different. SEO is an important, and easy, step to take in increasing one’s site traffic and overall business.
