Regarded as one of the most intriguing structures in all of Bahrain the National Museum is an iconic institution that opened its doors to the public as early as 1988. Overlooking the ocean from its scenic location the venue also holds the distinct honour of being the country's first museum space. Exploring the country's rich history that spans well over 6000 years the locale also boasts the largest collection of relics and archeologically significant materials relevant to Bahrain's culture and historic legacy. Complete with a cage and museum shops the venue's expansive galleries and exhibition halls showcase the Arab nation's evolution over the years.
As one of the most visually engaging World Trade Centres in the globe the Bahrain-World-Trade-Center is a sky-piercing marvel of engineering towering above the city at 787 feet. Consisting of two towers linked by a sky bridge the locale offers some of the most spectacular views of the city from its cloud gracing vantage point. Having gardened many an architectural award for its cutting edge design another intriguing fact about the locale is that its three wind turbines supplies power to more than 300 households in the city.
Located a mere 6km from Manama Qalat-Al-Bahrain is one of the country's foremost archaeological finds. Towering above the landscape at a height of 39 feet the venue which yielded a large collection of relics is believed to have been the capital city of the Dilmun. Sprawled across 1000 square feet the venue contains a larger than life fortress of 12m in height. Remnants of a human settlement complete with tiny households are also found within the site.
Located less than an hour away from the heart of Manama the Al-Areen-Wildlife-Park-Sakhir is Bahrain's premier wildlife sanctuary. Spread out across an expansive area the verdant and sprawling confines of this breathtaking enclosure is home to more than 10,000 varieties of plants as well as 500 animal species. Divided in to 2 regions the area that is open to the public welcomes large numbers of visitors all year round.
Revered as the national symbol of the spirit of the Bahraini people the Tree of Life is both a cultural landmark and a natural wonder all rolled in to one. Contained within an arid region of the desert where rain is scarce the Tree of Life remains verdant all year round in spite of having no identifiable water source located within its vicinity.
Dating back to the 7th century the Al-Khamis-mosque is one of Bahrain's most stunning religious edifices. Recognized by its iconic minarets the locale comprised of limestone, stone and wood is an architectural gem for the ages. Located in Khamis the venue extends across 113m with its prayer hall with ornate wooden columns serving as its chief attribute. As the country's premier motor sports hub the Bahrain International Circuit is no ordinary racing track in the desert oasis. Set up in 2004 the venue is home to a state-of-the-art track that includes Grand Prix, drag racing and V8 super car racing facilities. Boasting an oval track, paddock circuit and a drag strip the locale is a popular stopover for Formula One fans.
