Newly crowned double World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier has won Wales Rally GB to finish the season just as he started it. It was Ogier's eighth victory of the year and Volkswagen's twelfth in total, a new record for the most number of wins in a season by a single Manufacturer, beating the previous best set by Citroen in 2005 and 2008, although then there was more than 13 rounds, 16 and 15 respectively.
Sebastien Ogier finished the 2014 WRC season in the "best way" by taking victory on Wales Rally GB this weekend. Ogier led from start-to-finish in his Volkswagen Polo R WRC and while he was challenged by team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala on Friday, once the Finn went off on Saturday morning, he was able to pace himself to the end and his eighth victory of the year, 37.6 seconds up on Mikko Hirvonen.

Citroen's Mads Ostberg says he is "very pleased" to have taken the final spot on the podium on Wales Rally GB, especially after all his problems on Saturday afternoon. The Frenchman finished Wales Rally GB, over gravel forest roads, 37.6 seconds ahead of the Ford Fiesta driven by Finland's Mikko Hirvonen.
