A respected American history teacher, sent to an administrative gulag for teaching American history, has returned to school. Alan Barron, a teacher at a Monroe, Mich., middle school and a 36-year veteran about to retire, was put on administrative leave for teaching a controversial subject.

Playwright Young Jean Lee's "The Shipment" is a play that puts cultural images of black America on stage and lets the audience sort them out. Five actors portray a range of black and white identities through song, dance, comedy and a short drama — in one scene, a stand-up comic riffs on what the races think of each other; in another, black actors at a cocktail party seem to try to shed every black stereotype.

He never mentions any equally horrific hate crimes where whites are the victims. The tone of his article seems to be that racism is only the province of whites. According to the Clinton Justice Department, which is about as politically correct an agency as you can get, 90% of interracial violence is perpetrated by blacks against whites.
The following submission was originally published by the Daily Press in 2005. About 13 years ago, I read an article written by Bill Maxwell of the Gainesville (Fla.) Sun titled " When Blacks Help Blacks" and was taken aback by the truths in that article. Since then, things that were articulated by Maxwell have stayed on my mind. All during that time, I was thinking that things would change and that the negative aspect of his article would be history, but here I am in the year 2005, another millennium, and things have not changed.
In 1987, a sensational “discovery” was made by a Sydney University team, led by Australia’s most celebrated pre-historian, Professor D J Mulvaney. They reported that the Australian population in 1788 was 750,000, or three times the previous estimate. They concluded that more than 600,000 people had died as result of white settlement.

While most of the conflicts have resources at their core and involve a number of non-African nations and corporations, additional fuel is added to the conflict by stirring up ethnic differences and enticing hatred.
Debates over the origins of racism often suffer from a lack of clarity over the term. Many conflate recent forms of racism with earlier forms of ethnic and national conflict. In most cases ethno-national conflict seems to owe to conflict over land and strategic resources. In some cases ethnicity and nationalism were harnessed to wars between great religious empires (for example, the Muslim Turks and the Catholic Austro-Hungarians).
