Indira Priyadharshani Gandhi (1917-1984)
Term – (24 January 1966 to 24 March 1977 and March 9 1984 to October 31 1984)
She was the first woman Prime Minister of India. She has considered as the strongest Prime Minister of Indian Politics and has become world famous by her policies.

Term – (July 25 2007 to July 25 2012)

The first female President of India. She was the 12th President of India. She is the leader of Indian National Congress.

Term – (2 October 1963 to 13 March 1967)
The first woman Chief Minister of Republic India. She was served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh state. She was a famous freedom fighter of Indian National Congress.

The first woman elected cabinet Minister of India. In 1937,she was elected to the provincial legislature of the United Provinces and was designated minister of local self-government and public health.

Term – (1947-1957)
The first woman Central Minister of Independent India. She had hold the office of Union Ministry of Health.

On Space – 1997
The first Indian Woman on Space. She was the astronaut of NASA and the team member of Columbian Mission of USA.

Awarded on – 1979
She was first Indian residing person who has honored with Nobel Prize. She got Nobel for Peace in 1979.

Awarded on – 1994
She was first Indian woman to receive the title of Miss Universe. She was awarded in the 43rd edition of Miss Universe held in Philippines.

Awarded on – 1983
She was the only female Indian to receive Academy Award. On 1983, She was honored with Oscar Award for Best Costume Design for the movie Gandhi.

Awarded on – 1996
She was the first woman Grand Master from India. She was awarded in 1996.

Arundhati Roy (1961- )
Awarded on – 1998
She was only Indian woman to receive Man Booker Prize. She got the prize for her book The God of Small Things in 1998.
