Shocking Video Statistics

Since its establishment in 2005, YouTube has provided Internet users with video entertainment and tutorials. Individuals from Utah to New York are increasingly gathering their information online through videos than any other medium. Over the years, companies and businesses have started to use video production advertising tactics, and for good reason.

100 Million

Over 100 million online videos are watched every day. That’s over six billion hours spent just watching YouTube video productions.

50 Percent

Of all the videos watched online, 50 percent of those are business related videos. Online videos aren’t just being used for entertainment anymore.

90 Percent

A shocking 90 percent of people stated that they were more likely to purchase a product or service if the website had some sort of video production about it.

403 Percent

Real estate agents stated that home and condo listings that had a video on the website showing the home saw a 403 percent increase in responses from potential buyers.

One-Third

One-third of all online activity is spent watching videos. Approximately three billion people access the Internet every day. That’s a lot of video watching.

59 Percent

Of those who use the Internet, 59 percent of them said they would rather watch a video on a website than read text. Websites that had a video production rather than a large amount of text saw more responses and better sales.

80 Percent

80 percent of people watch the entirety of a video production, while only 20 percent will read the whole of an article or piece of text.

72 Hours

Every minute, 72 hours of video is uploaded to YouTube. In that amount of time, you could drive from Utah to California six times.

Number Two

YouTube is the number second most popular search engine in the world, just behind Google. That means that people are searching for videos almost just as much as anything else.
