Donning a saffron Nehru jacket our PM, Mr. Narendra Modi enthralled the audience of around 20,000 people at Madison Square with his speech. The PM received a rock-star ovation after his speech.

Lifetime Indian Visa to PIOs

Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) cardholders will get lifetime Indian visa and that American tourists will be given visa on arrival. Further, schemes for PIOs and Overseas citizens of India will be merged to facilitate hassle-free travel to the Indian diaspora.

To make development a mass movement

Recalling how Mahatma Gandhi made freedom struggle a mass movement, Modi said "My effort is to make development a mass movement. I am confident that we will succeed. There is no cause for disappointment. This country is going to make rapid progress."

Our ancestors used to play with snakes. We play with mouse.

PM stated that "India was considered in the foreign soil as a nation of black magic and snake charmers but now it is different. Our youths move the mouse and they shake up the world."

India wants change

Mr. Modi said that there is an atmosphere of hope and enthusiasm. India wants change. NRIs and people of India are expecting a lot from the government and he will be successful in fulfilling the aspirations of the people.

Rejuvenation of the river Ganga

On his ambitious mission to rejuvenate Ganga river, Modi said, "People ask me that why have I taken up a difficult task like cleaning of the Ganga. I tell them people of India have not chosen me for doing easy jobs."

Mr. Modi said "The earlier government spoke only of what laws they have made. I have begun removing obsolete laws.The more laws we get rid of the better it will be for us."

Come, make in India

Mr. Modi said "I invite you to come 'Make in India.' If you want human resources and low-cost production, then India is your destination. I invite you to the Make in India initiative."

Ministry for skill development

Mr. Modi stated that the government has created a separate ministry for skill development focusing on skill development by starting the 'Jan Dhan Yojna.' He said they had planned to start with zero balance accounts, but people started it with a total sum of Rs. 1500 crore.

Modi mentioned that since taking over as the PM of India he hasn't even taken a 15 min vacation. According to him, winning elections is not about any post or chair. It is a responsibility.

Pravasi Bahartiya Divas

Pravasi Bahartiya Divas

He mentioned that since Mahatma Gandhi was an expatriate who returned to India. It will be 100 years of that event next year i.e 2015, therefore Pravasi Bahartiya Divas will be held in Ahmedabad this time.
