The Kapoor family is a prominent Indian family, with a long history in Hindi cinema. Many members of the family have been successful actors, film directors, and producers. Here's the list of Kapoors who have ruled the Indian Cinema since its start.

Prithviraj Kapoor

Prithviraj Kapoor (3 November 1906 – 29 May 1972) was a pioneer of Indian theatre and of the Hindi film industry, who started his career as an actor, in the silent era of Hindi cinema, associated with IPTA as one of its founding members and who founded the Prithvi Theatres, a travelling theatre company based in Mumbai, in 1944.

He was also the patriarch of the Kapoor family of Hindi films, four generations of which family, beginning with him, have played active roles in Hindi film industry. The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 1969 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1971 for his contributions towards Indian cinema.

Raj Kapoor

Raj Kapoor (14 December 1924 – 2 June 1988), also known as "The Show Man", was a noted Indian film actor, producer and director of Hindi cinema. He was the winner of two National Film Awards and nine Filmfare Awards in India, and a two-time nominee for the Palme d'Or grand prize at the Cannes Film Festival for his films Awaara (1951) and Boot Polish (1954). Shammi Kapoor

Shammi Kapoor (21 October 1931[4] – 14 August 2011) was an Indian film actor and director. He was a prominent lead actor in Hindi cinema from the late 1950s until the early 1970s. He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1968 for his performance in Brahmachari and Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Vidhaata in 1982.

Shammi Kapoor is hailed as one of the most entertaining lead actors that Hindi cinema has ever produced. He was one of the leading stars of Hindi cinema during the late 1950s, the 1960s and early '70s. He made his Hindi Film debut in 1953 with the film Jeevan Jyoti, and went on to deliver hits like Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Dil Deke Dekho, Singapore, Junglee, College Girl, Professor, China Town, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Kashmir Ki Kali, Janwar, Teesri Manzil, An Evening in Paris, Bramhachari, Andaz and Sachaai.

Shashi Kapoor

Shashi Kapoor, (born on 18 March 1938) in Calcutta (now Kolkata), is an Indian film actor and film producer. He has also been a film director and assistant director in the Hindi film industry. He is a member of the Kapoor family, a film dynasty in India's Bollywood cinema. He is the younger brother of Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor, the son of Prithviraj Kapoor, the widower of Jennifer Kendal, and the father of Karan Kapoor, Kunal Kapoor, and Sanjana Kapoor. He has appeared in a large number of Hindi films as well as in a few English-language films. In 2011, he was honoured with the Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

Randhir Kapoor

Randhir Kapoor (born 15 February 1947) is a Bollywood actor, producer and director. His nickname is Daboo. He was born on 15 February 1947 in Bombay, Bombay Presidency, British India (now Mumbai, Maharashtra, India).He is an alumnus of Col.Brown Cambridge School , Dehra Dun. He belongs to the famous Kapoor family who have been part of the Hindi film industry since the late 1920s. Rajiv Kapoor

Rajiv Kapoor (born 25 August 1962) is an Indian film actor, producer, director and member of the Kapoor Family. He is the youngest son of actor/director Raj Kapoor. Kapoor now in to producing and directing. He produced Henna in 1991, directed by his brother Randhir, and in 1996 he made his directorial debut with the commercially unsuccessfulPremGranth, which starred his brother Rishi and Madhuri Dixit. In 1999 he produced Aa Ab Laut Chalen which was directed by his brother Rishi. Since then he has not been active in film producing or directing. In 2001, he married architect Aarti Sabharwal. However, the marriage ended in divorce two years later.

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor (born 25 June 1974), often informally referred to as Lolo, is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. Part of the Kapoor Family, she is the daughter of actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita. Kapoor made her acting debut at the age of seventeen with Prem Qaidi in 1991. She subsequently featured in several commercially successful films such as Jigar (1992), Anari (1993), Raja Babu, Suhaag (1994), Coolie No. 1, Gopi Kishan (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural & Jeet (1996).
