Every city has its distinct identities with respect to anything and everything. Bangalore in particular is famed for oh so many things, but the historical, iconic food places here sure deserve a separate listing.
1
Mavalli Tiffin Room (MTR)
The Rava Idli and Masala Dosa on their menu are what made their popularity to sky-rocket. That status remains the same even now!
2
Vidyarthi Bhavan
The Masala Dosa here is to die for. I personally can guarantee that much. Enough said. And the place is very old, too.
Now known as Shree Sagar, this little, old place even has a Wiki page of its own! Its renowned for its dosas among everything else on the menu.
4
Hotel Janatha
Yet ANOTHER legendary restaurant, the "Janatha Hotel" as its commonly known, is famous for its Masala Dosa and the Idli and the Vada. There's definitely this rustic charm to it, too!!
5
Halli Mane
There's a popular meme running that a true Bangalorean would have at least visited this place once in their lifetime. Halli Mane is quite the legend in itself, truth be told!
6
Adiga's
If a Bangalorean suggests a few restaurants for you, Adiga's is sure to be on the list within the top five or the top ten. There are two 'sects' but neither is inferior to the other.
7
A2B
Stands for Adyar Ananda Bhavan. They initially started out at Tamil Nadu and later spread to Bangalore City. And now? A2B is always on demand here!
8
Shanthi Sagar
Ask anyone you stumble upon in Bangalore about Shanthi Sagar. You'll be amazed at how much this restaurant has become a household name. And they're great, too!
9
Kadamba
They have a fair few branches right now--and are expanding on a wonderful scale. There really are no many people out there who don't swear by this restaurant. They're THAT good.
10
Nandini
Nandhini has nearly become a household name, too. Both their restaurant and hotel are almost equally famous and praised for.
