Family friendly pubs in St Albans

MumLife presents: a list of family friendly pubs in St Albans with great food and drink and a welcoming atmosphere.

Hare and Hounds

Starting out as a labour of love in our bar, The Hare and Hounds is our dream come true. We love beers, wines and coffee and if you do, too, you've come to the right place! All of our beers are available on tap and in bottles. We also offer many tastes from other local breweries from around town and across the country.

Our food is produced by our chef (come and say hello) who is passionate about local organic produce from suppliers such as Earthworks, Hedges Farm, Wobbly Bottom Farm and lots more! We are so lucky to live in such an abundant area of the world. Come and try out the menu Monday to Sunday lunchtimes and Tuesday to Saturday evenings.

The Six Bells

The Six Bells is an old fashioned local pub dating back to the 15th century. It provides great pub grub and a wide selection of real ales. Situated in St Michaels village, close to Verulamium park, it is a great place to visit after a long walk with the dog or a trip to the park with the kids.

The pub boasts wooden beams, a roaring fire and loads of character.

Rose and Crown Sandridge

Come and spend some time in a beautiful 400 year old village pub in Sandridge, just on the outskirts of St Albans - on the doorstep of the beautiful, and rapidly growing, Heartwood Forest.

We want to offer everything we believe a village pub should - brilliant, genuinely home-cooked food, fantastic, fresh cask ale and a warm welcome for everyone from families to dog walkers, from locals to cyclists and from ramblers to business customers.

Chuck in some free wi-fi, freshly ground coffee and plenty of excellent wine by the glass, and we should be all set.
