HOTELS TO VISIT BEFORE YOU DIE (PART 8 - CAPE TOWN)

ONE & ONLY CAPE TOWN

One&Only Cape Town is located in the heart of the city with, of course, wonderful views of Table Mountain. The exterior, however splendid, is plain compared to the interior. There are two sections. One is the Spa Tower with 40 suites and the other is the Marina Rise with 91 rooms. The latter with sophisticated dark-lacquered woods and terra-cotta. All the guest rooms and suites are large and have touches of African art work, giving them a feel of a home rather than a hotel.

TAJ CAPE TOWN

The Taj Cape Town welcomes guests to the vibrant heart of one of the world's most scenic and desirable cities, Cape Town. The Taj Cape Town is a combination of rich history and elegant contemporary architecture. Originally home to the South African Reserve Bank and Temple Chambers, later the Board of Executors (BOE), it successfully combines the heritage of the old with the luxury of the new.

THE TWELVE APOSTLES HOTEL & SPA

Only a short drive to Cape Town, the Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa is a grand contemporary hotel in Camps Bay, South Africa, offering astonishing views of the ocean. Arrivals are greeted by a smiling reception staff and a unique glass-structured fountain.

Azure, the hotel’s signature restaurant serves regionally inspired cuisine prepared using local ingredients. Navy glasses, sky blue fabrics, and even royal cobalt stripes on the walls make this restaurant one to remember. A 24 hour café is also on site to supply jet lagged guests with nourishment. The bar offers dozens of martini selections, a long list of ports and a formal afternoon tea.

THE CELLARS HOHENORT HOTEL

Located in the historical Constantia Valley, Cape Town, on the breathtaking slopes of Table Mountain The Cellars-Hohenort boasts 52 individually decorated rooms and suites. With panoramic mountain and garden views the owner-managed Cellars-Hohenort sets the scene for a fairytale stay. It is a must for those looking to add a delicious dose of peace and tranquillity to their life in the oldest winelands in “the cape” - a mere 15 minutes drive from the city centre and V&A Waterfront.

ELLERMAN HOUSE

Ellerman House is a spectacular landmark in the premier Cape Town suburb of Bantry Bay.
This superb 5 star "luxury home from home" boutique hotel is the quintessential location for discerning guests accustomed to the finer pleasures of life. The true splendour of Ellerman House rests in faithful preservation of its historical architecture, combined with discreet hospitality and efficient service reflecting the ambience experienced only in the comfort and familiarity of home.

CAPE GRACE HOTEL

The gentle elegance of a luxurious small hotel combined with the allure of one of the world's most beautiful cities provides a unique experience of hospitality. Independently owned and run by individuals who love Cape Town, Cape Grace provides the perfect setting for discovering Cape Town's enviable location, which offers both centrality and privacy combined with unrivalled views of Table Mountain, the yacht marina and a working harbor.

BELMOND MOUNT NELSON HOTEL

Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel is Cape Town’s legendary luxury resort. The hotel of choice of cultured global travelers since 1899, a combination of a romantic heritage, warm professional service, timeless style and a magnificent setting, reinforces its reputation as one of the most iconic leisure hotels on the African continent.

Conveniently located within the city’s cultural centre, the Mount Nelson Hotel is ideally situated for guests to explore the heart of the city, the V&A Waterfront is a ten minute drive from the hotel and the best beaches.

STEENBERG HOTEL

Steenberg Hotel is only 20 minutes from Cape Town but a world away. It’s not just an exceptional hotel but a working winery with many awards. In fact, it’s the Cape’s oldest wine farm. The hotel maintains a complete spa and the vineyards are surrounded by an 18-hole championship golf course.

There are 21 rooms divided into four different categories. Three of them are Heritage Suites and these are exceptional in their individual style and ambiance. They all have the feeling of being in a private home in the middle of the vineyards. One of them has a swimming pool surrounded by vineyards but all blend historical antiques and contemporary furnishings.
